THE FINE PRINT
Privacy
Last updated 5 October 2026. The Lash Edit (Pty) Ltd is responsible for the personal information you give us, under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email, phone, delivery address and what you bought.
- When you book the Lash Bar: your name and phone number.
- When you sign up for news: your email and, if you give it, your name.
- When you browse: cookies that keep your bag and sign-in working, and, unless you say no, measurement cookies from Meta and Google that show us which posts and ads bring people here.
Why we use it
- To take payment, pack and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.
- To keep the records a business must keep (tax and accounting).
- To send news and offers, only if you've ticked the box or signed up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand what works on the site and in our ads.
Who else sees it
Only the services that help us run the shop, each for its own job:
- PayFast (payment) and the courier (delivery).
- Our email provider (order emails) and Mailchimp (news, if you've said yes).
- Meta and Google (measurement and advertising, unless you've said no).
- Our booking system for the Lash Bar.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this site. Some of these services store data outside South Africa, under protections POPIA accepts.
We never sell your information.
How long we keep it
Order records for five years, because the law requires it. Marketing details until you unsubscribe. Everything else only as long as we need it.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or unsubscribe at any time. Write to orders@thelashedit.co.za. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator at inforeg.org.za.
Cookies
The notice at the bottom of the site lets you say no to measurement cookies. The cookies that keep your bag and sign-in working can't be switched off, because the shop doesn't work without them.
